Working Families
I believe workers shouldn’t have to worry about their basic needs. That's why I've focused on creating opportunities for the people who keep Denver running by supporting working families, removing barriers, and helping people build lasting economic security.
Together, we:
Secured permanent funding for Denver Health so everyone can continue receiving quality care, regardless of their ability to pay.
Helped pass the ballot measure giving Denver city employees the right to unionize.
Advanced policies that make childcare more accessible while maintaining strong safety standards.
Supported workforce opportunities that help residents build careers and financial stability.
Housing & Opportunity
Housing is about more than buildings—it's about giving families the opportunity to build a future in the community they call home. Over the past four years, I have worked to help families stay and succeed in the neighborhoods they love.
Together, we:
Partnered with Denver Housing Authority and Habitat for Humanity to expand affordable homeownership opportunities in neighborhoods at risk of displacement.
Supported efforts to expand property tax rebates for home owner.
Expand funding for rental assistance.
Supported bring Warren Village Alameda to District 7, providing housing and wraparound services for single-parent families.
Supported Urban Peak's Mothership campus, creating housing and services for youth experiencing homelessness. Which prevents years of cycling in and out of homelessness.
Neighborhoods, Parks & Transportation
The quality of our neighborhoods shapes our daily lives from the walk to school to the local park to the neighborhood library. Building neighborhoods where families feel safe, connected, and proud to live is important to create a thriving community.
Together, we:
Secured additional funding for Safe Routes to School.
Worked alongside residents to advocate for a safer Alameda Avenue.
Helped save Broadway Bark Dog Park in Baker.
Secured playground improvements at Aspgren Park and Platt Park while getting improvements at Huston Lake Park and Daily Park.
Expanded Athmar Park Library and secured funding for future renovations at Ross-Broadway and Decker libraries.
Small Business & Local Economy
Small businesses are the heart of District 7. They create jobs, strengthen neighborhoods, and make our community unique. Because of this, I have and will continue to help our neighborhood businesses grow and thrive.
Together, we:
Helped establish South Broadway's first General Improvement District.
Supported Blucifer’s first rodeo which brought foot traffic through not just music venues but local shops.
Supported the little Saigon business district through art investment and the South West area plan.
Removed outdated parking minimums so neighborhood businesses like Fire on the Mountain and Dive Inn could keep serving customers with outdoor patios.
Updated zoning in the area to allow businesses to continue operating food trucks and better serve their communities.
Environment & Sustainability
Clean air, clean water, and responsible growth are investments in our children's future. We must protect the city we're leaving to the next generation.
Together, we:
Expanded Universal Recycling & Composting citywide.
Expanded tree canopy across the district.
Helped shape Denver's next Climate Action, Sustainability, and Resiliency Plan.
Championed circular economy strategies that reduce waste, encourage reuse and repair, and regenerate natural resources.
Opposed unnecessary tax incentives for large data centers.
Led efforts to make the Southwest Area Plan the first neighborhood plan to recognize the impacts of emerging technologies.
Government That's Accountable to You
Government should earn your trust by being transparent, responsible, and responsive. A good government asks tough questions before spending your money or passing new laws. That's why I've worked to strengthen transparency, protect independent oversight, and make sure every proposal is measured by one simple standard: Does it make life better for the people of District 7?
Together, we:
Protected funding for the Denver Auditor's Office and the Office of the Independent Monitor.
Expanded the Auditor's authority to strengthen transparency and accountability.
Supported competitive police pay while also investing in independent oversight because strong public safety requires public trust.
Opposed major real estate deals and spending proposals when I believed they lacked sufficient safeguards or accountability.
Advocated for a more thoughtful, city-owned approach to public safety technology with stronger privacy protections and guardrails.
Protecting Civil Liberties
I believe public safety and civil liberties go hand in hand. We can keep our communities safe while standing up for the rights and freedoms of everyone who calls Denver home.
Together, we:
Passed legislation prohibiting masked law enforcement officers, including ICE, from operating in Denver except where specifically authorized by law.
Worked with the Denver Clerk to expand voter access by bringing new ballot drop boxes to Athmar Park and Harvard Gulch.
Partnered with community organizations to provide immigrant families and small businesses with "Know Your Rights" resources and training.
Stood up against federal overreach when I believed it threatened the rights and values of our community.
